BASIC GUIDELINES FOR ARRANGING INTERMENTS

A. |
CONTACT THE CEMETERY STAFF

During regular work hours 8:00AM to 4:00PM call (603)796-2026. |
|
2. |
After hours, weekends and holidays call (603)796-2026 and listen to instructions. Leave a short detailed message with a phone number and a staff person will call you back.
|

|
B. |
INFORMATION REQUIRED FOR SCHEDULING SERVICES
|
1. |
Veterans/dependents with Eligibility Certificates:
|
a. |
Deceased Full Name and Social Security Number. |
|
b. |
Deceased Date of Death. |
|
c. |
For a Deceased Veteran have you or others scheduled military honors? With whom? |
|
d. |
Family choice of Cremation (columbarium or inground) or Casket burial. |
|
e. |
Urn Vaults are not required however if used please let us know. |
|
f. |
Name of vault company (for Full Casket interments) |
|
g. |
Additionally, surviving veterans or eligible dependents will identify their future burial preference (i.e. cremation, single or double depth plot, etc.) |
|
|
2. |
Veterans/Dependents without Eligibility Certificates:
|
a. |
Completed NHSVC Application Form to be submitted with proof of Military Service. |

Applicable information as noted in B.1 above.
|

|
|
C. |
BURIAL TIMES
|
1. |
Scheduled Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Times and dates are determined on a first request, first served basis. |
|
2. |
Cremations without a service can be scheduled from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. |
|
3. |
Normally, we can only accommodate one burial service per time period. However, any additions/changes to schedule are at the discretion of the Director. Confirm all services with the NHSVC office. |

Cemetery is CLOSED on Saturday, Sunday and State Holidays.
|

|
D. |
COMMITTAL SERVICES
|
1. |
Committal activities (i.e. minister, military honors & vault delivery) are coordinated by the funeral director or next of kin if no funeral director. |
|
2. |
Taps can be provided through our Carillon system upon request. |
|
3. |
Committal services can be held in the chapel or at the gravesite, but not BOTH. If the chapel is used you may not be able to visit the gravesite immediately following the committal service. Out of respect for the next scheduled interment, committal services shall not exceed 20 minutes. This will allow sufficient time to clear the area for the next family. |

4. |
Full Funeral service or a Memorial service is not allowed. Open casket ceremonies are not authorized any place on the Veterans cemetery grounds. |
|
5. |
Chapel Service: Funeral Director will inform the people in attendance to remain seated while the casket or urn is removed from the chapel. Cemetery staff will assist in escorting the remains to the gravesite.

E. |
GRAVE MARKERS
|
1. |
When scheduling the Committal service a grave marker form will be faxed or mailed to you. This form should be returned on the day of interment so we can order the grave marker. Failure to return form on time may result in markers ordered without personal lines or religious emblem. Reordering markers will be an additional cost |

If you have time, you can come to the office and the staff can assist in completing the form.

F. |
ARRIVING AT THE CEMETERY
|
1. |
Please stop at the administration building and come in for instructions. Do not proceed to chapel or interment area. Out of respect for others, please follow this request. You may interrupt an on going service. |
|
2. |
Cemetery staff will let you know when we are ready for you to proceed. |
|
3. |
If the funeral procession includes more then 20 vehicles please double park in front of the administration building. This will avoid leaving cars on Route 3. |

4. |
If you call us ahead of time with an estimated number of vehicles our staff will be ready to assist you with parking. |
